The Moment in His Life

By this point in his life, Sakamoto had already explored every corner of sound, from glitchy electronic beats to sweeping cinematic scores. He eventually reached a place where he didn’t feel the need to prove anything anymore. He arrived at a style that was much quieter. He stripped away the noise until only the essential remained—the musical equivalent of a single, clear drop of water.
